On the last post, we thought that Mr Hudson would be coming home on Wednesday and that Harper would be staying behind to be taken care of in the NICU for at least another week.  Harper decided that wasn’t fair and decided to start taking her feedings.  She joined brother as they both came home Wednesday afternoon, a day short of being one month old.

Both Harper and Hudson are required to keep their monitors on.  I’m still not sure if I love them or hate them, the monitors that is.  They are always attached and go where they go, which means just another thing we have to lug around.  The benefit to this is peace of mind.  We can go to sleep at night knowing that if there happen to be any issues in the night that we will be immediately alerted.

We went to their first doctor’s appointment today.  Venturing out of the house is most definitely more complicated now.  What should have taken us ten minutes to get out the door and to the office took about an hour.  Guess that will just need to become part of our routine.  The appointment went well, both babies are healthy and gaining weight.  They still need to be isolated as much as possible due to the current RSV outbreak though.  Our nieces and nephews are a bit disappointed as they still won’t be able to meet their new cousins yet.

We are now settled in and our sweet babies are home.
